JOB TITLES

Project Manager

Job Summary: Directly responsible for achieving project success by managing client relations, positive financial and administrative results while carefully following the company policies and procedures as well as our contractual obligations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate the primary schedule and weekly updates. Prepare pay applications and all project close-out documents. Conduct owner and subcontractor meetings.
  • Monitor the performance of the field operations, prepare in P6 subcontractor scopes, negotiate contracts and buyout, change order management.
  • Manage safety and quality effort for the project, utilizing safety and QC resources appropriately.
  • Project financial reports, including updated cost projections.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships with the goal of repeat profitable business.
  • Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, financial objectives, and procedures for accomplishing work, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources during various phases of the project.
  • Establish work plan, budget and staffing for each phase of project and arrange for assignment of project personnel.
  • Identify changes in scope or differing conditions and secure appropriate change orders for project cost and time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or experience equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Experience in Municipal Work, Higher Education, Healthcare, Public Schools, Assisted Living, Multifamily and Country Clubs as well as a variety of other markets.
  • Ability to perform financial analysis; draft and understand contracts.
  • Ability to manage a team, resolve disputes and foresee potential cost or schedule issues.
  • Outstanding oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Expedition, Suretrack, P6 (or equivalent) is required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Project Engineer

Job Summary: A project engineer acts as a key support to the project manager, performing essential project tasks such as the processing of submittals, assisting with the subcontractor procurement process, scheduling, subcontractor trade coordination as well as assisting the project manager through all phases of the project. The position is intended as a training ground for individuals to gain the experience and knowledge required to become a Project Manager.


Project Engineers are specifically responsible for:

  • Review of plans and specifications.
  • Managing the submittal process by reviewing all shop drawings against the project specifications, maintaining the submittal log, and coordinating the information with the architect, engineer, subcontractors and Project Superintendent.
  • Maintain control of all plans, specifications and revisions to ensure that the construction team is in possession of all current documents published by design team.
  • Managing the RFI process.
  • Coordinating and conducting Pre-Construction Meetings and Mock-ups with architects and subcontractors.
  • Assist in processing change orders.
  • Photographic documentation of the Project.
  • Management of the Project Closeout by securing all warrantees, guarantees, as-builts, etc.

The qualified candidate will have:

  • A four year building construction/ engineering degree or experience equivalent with a minimum of 6 months of on the job experience (internship is acceptable).
  • Knowledge of construction / architectural / engineering terminology.
  • Basic estimating skills.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • The ability to operate a personal computer and various software programs.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities.
  • Basic knowledge of scheduling in Suretrak, P3, or P6.

Construction Superintendent

Job Summary: Directly responsible for the project’s success through scheduling, quality control and by minimizing warranty call backs while carefully following the company policies and procedures as well as our contractual obligations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate the primary and two week look ahead schedules and weekly updates.
  • Monitor the performance of the field operations, assist in primary subcontractor scopes.
  • Supervise subcontractors and vendors.
  • Manage quality control.
  • Ensure jobsite safety and security.
  • Review submittals, prepare daily reports.
  • Conduct weekly sub meetings.
  • Maintain as-build drawings and direct project close-out.
  • Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project and arrange assignment of project personnel.
  • Identify changes in scope or differing conditions and assist Project manager to secure appropriate change orders for project cost and time.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures to identify and mitigate risk subcontractor and vendor performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or experience equivalent is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience leading construction projects as a Superintendent.
  • Experience in Municipal Work, Higher Education, Healthcare, Public Schools, Assisted Living, Multifamily and Country Clubs as well as a variety of other markets.
  • Ability to understand contracts.
  • Ability to manage a team, resolve disputes and foresee potential cost or schedule issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Estimator

Job Summary: Develop bid strategy and manage big team(s) and subcontractor relationships. Preparer competitive bid proposals and provide preconstruction services on Construction Management Projects and Cost Plus contract projects. Develop and maintain design professional and client relationships in developing future sales.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of concept, budgetary and final estimate bid proposals, insure that budgets quotes and proposals are accurate and completed with professional quality.
  • Consult with Estimating Staff, CFO, Senior VP’s on the details of bid crew rates, labor multipliers, general & administrative costs and markups, and proposal content.
  • Conduct in assigned Pre-Construction / CM Meetings with Design Teams and Stakeholders.
  • Consult with clients, vendors and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates in the revolved issues.
  • Read and study bid package documents to ensure company compliance and insure that all bids are prepared in a manner consistent with those documents, i.e. instructions to bidders, scope narratives, plans, specifications, etc.
  • Maintain a professional manner when representing company and the estimating team in internal/external meetings.
  • Development takeoffs, evaluation and/or development of construction labor rates and evaluation of subcontract cost estimates and proposals.
  • Review of process designs and engineering specifications for cost effectiveness and suggestions for alternatives where applicable (VE)
  • Provide technical assistance in negotiating owner and subcontractor contracts, change orders, etc. as required.
  • Conceptual estimating, cost analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in estimating.
  • Experience in Municipal Work, Higher Education, Healthcare, Public Schools, Assisted Living, Multifamily and Country Clubs as well as a variety of other markets.
  • Ability to read engineering and architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand contracts.
  • Outstanding and professional oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, On-Screen Take off is required.
